Today Pari woke up quite late as she and I were watching ‘India’s Got Talent’ yesterday night until 11 PM.
So, by the time she was up, I’d finished my breakfast and got into morning chores. When she was ready to have her breakfast, she asked me, “do I have to sit alone while I have breakfast?”.
I said, “No, I’ll sit with you”. “But, you’ve already finished yours”. “That’s okay. I can still sit with you and we can talk. Or, I can read something to you – any book that you’d want”, said I.
She immediately pounced on me to kiss all over my face! And said, “you’re the kindest mamma”.
She tells me this a dozen times a day.
Or, she’ll say – “you are the most joker, comedian mamma. Can you believe you’re a mom!” (She thinks moms are serious. Loving, but, stern.)
And she kisses and hugs me two dozen times, at least!
I don’t think this will ever change.
No matter she’s 6 or 36.
And, no matter I’m 36 or 66.
I mean this relationship – nurtured with generous showers of love, kindness, empathy, respect.
And humour. Extravagant doses of humour
