Launching the ‘Made with Love’ Link-up Party: Share Your ‘me time’!

share your 'me time' by linking up with Mommy Labs at 'made with love'Did this take you by surprise? (smiles). Well, yes, I can understand because it happened rather quickly! (smiles)

The idea – to celebrate ‘me time’ – with my lovely co-hosts – my blogger friends at Angelique Felix and The Rainy Day Mum were too good a combination to resist.

As you may know by now – I really cherish and value my ‘me time’. So much so that this subject is already on my blog as a prominent category! Hosting an artsy party like this meant like a natural extension of it all.

For, this link-up party is exactly about that – OUR ‘me time’ that we so often tend to ignore or well… ‘sacrifice’. Ah well, now, that’s the last word I resort to, for I believe that whatever I do, I do knowing fully well it’ll give me satisfaction. And not because it’s a duty or blah and blah…

And yet, the problem is, we mothers and women folk juggle so many things that we tend to procastinate or let go of doing or indulging in something that WE absolutely love. Well, why only we women, I’ve seen, first-hand, how the guys get sucked into job and home-errands and kids that they pine to create time for their own hobbies.

So, well – this link-up is meant to be – a virtual place to share what we all love creating and doing to indulge our ‘me time’.

Just share away your creation that you made with so much love, zeal and passion.

Read on to know what can you share and when…

What can you share?

  1. Art in ‘any’ form – a DIY, a craft, a before-and-after project, your photography, home decor, painting, sewing, quilting.
  2. Food – a savoury, dessert, a meal, any delicacy that you made for your family, friends, yourself
  3. Music – It can be a video of a song you sang, a dance performance, a recital
  4. Literary Work: Stories, poetry, songs, ‘ghazals’
Who can share?
  1. Doesn’t matter if you are a mom or not, a dad or not, married, unmarried – any of you can share your creation
  2. Bloggers or non bloggers – there’s no restriction. I know there are so many of you who love to create but may not have a blog. How can I not invite each of you to this party that celebrates the ‘me’ within you?
So, you can share your creation via a link on your blog, facebook account, flickr stream, a pinterest page (let me know if you want an invite!) or even your online photo gallery!
When Can You Share?
Starting today, we’ll host this link-up party on Tuesdays. We haven’t yet decided if it’ll be every week or twice a month or just once a month. I guess we’ll take a decision based on YOUR response. But, we’ll keep you posted.
For now, “Made with Love’ is LIVE!
We hope that ‘Made with Love’ will encourage you and me to create our regular ‘me time’, which is so akin to a kid’s ‘play time’.  Isn’t it? After all, there’s a kid within each of us – no matter how much we tend to ignore it – that craves to play, have fun and get away from our ‘To Dos’ every once in a while!
share your 'me time' with Mommy Labs 'made with love'
Come on over and share your creation that you so ‘made with love’. I’ll appreciate if you can mention on your blog post that you linked up with Mommy Labs. You can also grab our ‘Made with Love’ button (in the side bar) if you’d like to put on your blog.
In the mean-time, I’m sharing a photography project from last year that I’d published on my old blog – Gorgeous Karma (no more). Many of you here on Mommy Labs, may not have seen, hence have a look. I call this project my ‘nature platter’. (smiles)
If you don’t get lost, there’s a chance you’ll never be found!

I need help sustaining this blog…

Dear blog readers – It’s been exactly eight years now that I’ve been writing on this blog! Yes, eight long years and hundreds of articles. From art, creativity and learning; to food, health, gardening, travel, sustainable and mindful living, natural birth. In our un-schooling life, as we go on introspecting, questioning and evolving, I’ve strived to share our stories and experiences with as much honesty, care and sincerity as possible.

I spend hours writing an article – and often write and rewrite many times before it rings true to me and sounds worthy of your time to read.

The most important thing for me is to keep this blogging endeavour authentic and true to my values. This blog has been my sacred space to express, share, feel empowered and contribute. Hence, I do not like to support businesses that don’t align with my values. So far, I’ve rarely taken sponsorship from brands and companies. I haven’t placed any ads on my blog, though there have been multiple offers.

Infact, I’d like to keep this blog ad free unless something truly meaningful comes across.
Yet, there’s a cost to running this blog. The basic cost of keeping the domain alive, and hosting all this content on. I spend roughly INR 10,000 (USD 173) just to keep this blog up and running. So, I need to cover this cost. Plus, it’d be nice to bring in some income for our family of four. And, this is where I request your support.

If you find my articles and stories useful or inspiring at some level, please help me sustain. Starting from 1 dollar or 100 rupees to whatever you can, do consider donating for the content I share; for my intention and the time and effort I put. Your support will go a long way in keeping this blog (of 8+ years) sparkling with stories for many more years to come. Thank you, dear ones. I’ll value what you’ll gift with love and kindness. :-)
