The ‘Heart Project’ is LIVE!
Yes, friends – it’s the same collaborative project I mentioned yesterday. Pari and I are proud and touched to be a part of it.
Read on to know what’s the purpose behind this project. What is this Heart Book I’m talking about. And, what can YOU do to contribute to this wonderful, heart-felt project?
The ‘Heart Project’ is a fundraiser for the American Heart Association (AHA) that my blogger friend Jamie (hands on: as we grow) has organized as a gesture to support the AHA and her 4-year old cousin – Ellie.
Little Ellie has undergone three open-heart surgeries in her life-span of merely four years. She may eventually need a heart transplant. But, right now, she’s a shining example of a truly resilient and brave heart.
Read Ellie’s heart-wrenching story.
As part of this project, 70+ bloggers from around the world have collaborated to bring you a book containing more than ONE HUNDRED heart-themed creative projects. Projects, that you can involve your kids in – to create, to play, to cook and to display in your home.
Pari and I have contributed our own heart projects to this book (Paper Bag Heart Luminaries and Pari’s Heart Book). The fact that our effort will help a few distressed hearts and souls was a beautiful reason to be a part of. Does it matter a wee bit which part of the world those suffering hearts are from?
Two years back, having seen my mom go through the most fatal heart complication and surgery has put me in a very compassionate position to relate to others’ misery. I now genuinely feel the pain of those families who have to witness the suffering of their loved ones…
The Heart Book – packed with 100+ heart-themed art/craft projects
You can get this wonderful art/craft book for just US $ 5.
By making a donation to the AHA, you’ll receive this glorious collection of 100+ photographed heart projects that exhibit the colours and flavours from around the world. We hope that you will join us in our effort to raise $ 1000 by the Valentine’s day.
Each heart project in the e-book links to the tutorial of the project on the original contributing blog. There is also a collective index at the end of the book – in the e-book as well as the printed book.
This book, I can assure you, is a very helpful resource to refer to for Valentine’s Day art, craft and activities. Or, for any other time of the year. It’ll make a lovely gift for a friend or family member with kids.
Here’s a sneak peek of what’s in the book!
