I’ve been doing some yoga for years now but am no where close to being a ‘Yogini’ and reveling in that state of enlightened bliss and aura. I sure want to get deeper and deeper into the yoga practice but more so after my baby’s birth for I cannot do many of the yoga postures or pranayams right now. What I’ve portrayed in this art is my vision for myself. I hope this art will help in motivating and reminding me of my goal.

Couple of pranayams that I do these days – for peace, concentration and deep breathing – are the Anulom vilom and the Bhramari. The ‘Bhramari‘ (this link is to a yoga site I quite like) particularly has become an essential part of my morning rituals. Based on the philosophy of Naad-yoga (yoga of sound), it helps in activating the brain cells and nerves leading to greater focus, alertness and peace of mind and soul.
The other day, a friend of mine mentioned about the ‘aura of trees‘ and that trees have historical memory that can help cure a person. She was commenting on the Whirling Dervish Leaf Art that I’d posted on Facebook. That got me thinking and I’ve been reading up a little bit. I didn’t find anything concrete on this except this article that talks about aura, energy field etc.
About the Weeping Fig or the Java Willow
According to Trees of Delhi, it’s a large, handsome evergreen fig tree (in its moist, natural habitat) with a dense, spreading crown of glossy, pointy leaves and drooping branchlets. Three separate varieties of the species and numerous ornamental hybrids are distinguished, causing much confusion.
